Surf course in Fuerteventura: Your perfect day in the waves
Fuerteventura is known as the “Hawaii of Europe“ – and for good reason! Whether it‘s your very first time on a surfboard or you want to improve your technique, catching your first wave is a feeling you will never forget. But how exactly does a typical surf day with Surfers Island work? We‘ll take you along!
1.) Easy Booking & Free Pick-Up Service
Booking with us is completely straightforward. You can easily request your surf course via our contact form on the website or write to us directly via WhatsApp at +34 618 200 710. We are at the station daily from 11 am to 5 pm, but usually answer flexibly outside these hours. During the booking process, we will ask for a few important details: your age, weight, and height. This helps us accurately estimate the perfect wetsuit and surfboard sizes for you in advance. We will also ask for your hotel so we can organize your free pick-up.
Important to know: You will receive a fixed time from us when we will pick you up right at your accommodation in Costa Calma, Esquinzo, or Morro Jable. Since the best and safest waves for our students break around low tide, our surf times are strictly tied to the tides. The tides change daily, which means our pick-up times also vary and we unfortunately cannot be super flexible with the schedule.
2.) Flexible Wetsuit Check & Spot Selection
Before we head to the beach, we pack the equipment. Since it‘s crucial that your wetsuit fits perfectly to keep you warm and allow maximum freedom of movement, our instructors usually pack two different size options for you on the first day based on the details you provided. Once we arrive at the spot, you can try them on and see which one feels better. The big advantage of Fuerteventura‘s south: depending on the wind and wave forecast, we can choose the best conditions for the day. We drive to La Pared, Esquinzo, or Cruz Roja.

3.) Duration, Small Groups (Max. 8 Students) & Beach Preparation
Depending on which spot we drive to, the entire surf excursion takes between 3.5 and a maximum of 4 hours. Once we arrive at the parking lot of our chosen surf spot, everyone gets changed. While you put on your wetsuit, our instructors distribute the surfboards, which they have already prepared perfectly for your level, height, and weight. Before heading into the water, we always do a solid warm-up on the beach. Every instructor has their own style, but the goal is the same: to warm up the muscles and lubricate the joints so you can paddle safely and powerfully. Don‘t forget to bring a towel, some water, and a small snack for after the session!

4. Surf Action & Individual Coaching
Then it‘s time for the water! We guarantee small groups of a maximum of 8 students per instructor. During the session, the instructor will repeatedly take individual students aside for a short, targeted briefing.
If you feel you need a little more attention or have a specific question about your pop-up: just let your instructor know! We do our absolute best to keep an eye on everyone. With 8 students, it can naturally happen that someone gets a few less tips in one moment – but our instructors are super motivated, always ready to help, and can be approached at any time in the water.

5. Payment & Return Trip to the Hotel
After a successful and exhausting session in the waves, we pack up together. The course is then settled: you can either pay the instructor directly in cash on site, pay in advance via bank transfer, or pay by card beforehand at our station (we always communicate all these options clearly during the booking process). Finally, you can relax and reflect on your waves while we drive you comfortably back to your hotel!
